The Taliban insurgents publicly hanged a university student in the central-east of Wardak province, Afghanistan. The victim was identified as Faizul Rahman, who was reportedly on his way to meet his family when he was captured by Taliban. He was hanged to death on accusation of spying and alleged involvement in the death of a senior Taliban official. Provincial governor spokesman Abdul Rahman Mangal confirmed the incident, saying “Faizul Rahaman was a student in Kabul Polytechnic University. The Taliban captured him from Sayed Abad district Thursday and hanged him in Sewaka village of Chak district.” He added that Taliban has killed the student in accusation of assassinating a Haqqani Network militant named Dr. Mirwais. The official called the accusation baseless, adding the student had no relation with government too. Iria ceremony is a Wakirike tradition where a teenager must go through before giving out for marriage. According to reports, the tradition has been practiced ever since, before ever a girl child is given out, this is a task that her parents will do then as a grown-up girl, she can then be free for any man to have her in marriage. The Chiefs will bless them and give them gift during this event for encouragement. They elders critically screened the girls as culture demands; the correct traditional dressing, moving style in steps, height, skin appearance, hair style etc… but be in line with the tradition.

Several persons were seriously injured in a lone motor accident at No 50 Adekunle Fajuyi Str, Shogunle on Saturday, December 3. The injured were rushed to the hospital where they are currently receiving treatment.

One Ms Uduak was arrested and charged to Calabar Magistrates Court on Monday, November 28th for allegedly pouring boiling water on the face of 10-year-old boy, Daniel Okon Nse in an attempt to wake him up from sleep. It was gathered that on Thursday, November 24th, at about  5:30AM , the 29-year-old suspect poured boiling water on Nse, causing severe burns and injuries on the child’s face and arm. Mr. Emmanuel Agan who is a neighbour to the accused, noticed the grave injuries on the child on Friday 25th November, 2016 and immediately reported to Basic Rights Counsel Initiative, a front line child rights organization in Calabar. A 37-year-old foreign national is facing abduction and rape charges for allegedly turning a 12year old girl into his sex slave in Pretoria, South Africa. According to Sunnyside Police spokesperson, Captain Daniel Mavimbela, the Grade 7 learner was reported missing from her home in Mamelodi in early September. "According to reports, the girl left home to meet with friends at a recreational park just outside Silverton,” said Mavimbela. "Instead she came across an unknown girl, who subsequently led her to a flat in Sunnyside, east of Pretoria, where both of them were to spend the night together." Police were told that when the girl woke up the following morning, she saw the man seated on the bed and the unknown girl was nowhere to be found. "From that point on the 37-year-old man allegedly kept the young girl as his sex slave and raped her repeatedly.
