The youths of Rumuokwurusi in Port-Harcourt, Rivers state have reacted to the "unfair treatment" by Sudelletra Nigeria Limited to their community by picketing the company premises. According to reports by the residents, Sudelletra company situated at KM 16 PH/Aba Expressway has over 200 hundred workforce but only 8 persons are from the community. And the highest paid graduate worker from the community is paid N50,000.00 monthly, while other graduates that are not indigenes are paid 250,000.00 monthly. No one from the community is a staff or management staff of the company . The angry youths also alleged that the company has also refused to give the community skill acquisitions, employments, scholarships etc. More so, Sudelletra has been accommodated by Rumuokwurusi community for over 20 years but without any project sited by the company in Rumuokwurusi community... However, the community is now demanding for employment of 40% of the workforce of the company...

An estranged wife, Modupe Daisi, on Monday told the Customary Court sitting in Aiyedun-Ekiti, that her husband ,Sunday Owolabi, 75, consented to her dating their farm labourer; only for him to accuse her of adultery.The plaintiff was seeking an order of the court to retrieve the N50,000 receipt of the farmland she bought through her husband in 2009. Modupe giving evidence before the court alleged that her husband had once told her labourer, one Ojo Folorunso, to feel free to have sex with her. A 29-year - old housewife , Onyinyechi Akunne, who allegedly killed her 35- year -old husband, Abuchi Akunne, with a kitchen knife over a lottery ticket of Premier Lotto Ltd also known as “Baba Ijebu”, was on Monday brought before an Ikeja High Court. Onyinyechi is facing a charge of murder which contravenes Section 221 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2011. She, however, denied the charge. The State Prosecutor , Mrs C . K Tuiyi - Carena , told the court that the accused allegedly committed the offence on March 28, 2015, at her residence located at No . 85, Idimu Road, Ejigbo , a suburb of Lagos. At least eight people have died and 28 others have been injured in a stampede at a public hall in Zambia's capital, Lusaka, where a church was distributing food, police say. A High Court in Yola, Adamawa State, has convicted and jailed former Governor, Bala James Ngilari, for failing to adhere to the procurement laws of the state. In a 75-minute long ruling, Justice Nathan Musa, found the former governor guilty of four charges, and discharged him on one, which bordered on conspiracy. The Judge, however, discharged and acquitted former Secretary to the State Government, and the Commissioner of Finance, who were second and third defendants in the case. In handing down his sentence, the Judge said, the law stipulated that the convict shall not be given an option of fine. He sentenced the former governor to five years in prison, and said the convict was free to serve his term in any prison of his choice. Mr. Ngilari was charged on September 21, 2016.

The official partners of the Big Brother Naija Reality TV Show, Payporte has released a statement regarding the disqualification of housemate, Kemen from the competition. Recall that Kemen was disqualified and evicted with immediate effect after he was caught on camera groping fellow housemate, Tboss without her consent. In a statement released by Payporte on its social media page, the Official partners of the reality TV show confirmed Kemen sexually harassed Tboss. The statement reads: “Hello Everyone, Based on last night’s footage of @Kemen_fitness making sexual moves on @officialtboss_ which sparked a large outrage, we will like to make our stance known on this matter. PayPorte is strongly against sexual harassment and perversion and we strongly condemn Kemen’s actions. The sickle cell disease of a French teenager has been reversed through a landmark procedure that saw scientists alter his DNA. The teenager was prior to the treatment on a monthly blood transfusion to dilute his defective blood. At age 13, doctors at Necker Children’s Hospital in Paris decided to alter the genetic instructions in his bone marrow. This was done through the injection of a virus (which corrected the defect he had) into his bone marrow. The altered bone marrow was then put back into the patient. Fifteen months since the treatment, the teenager no longer requires medication, and his blood cells show no further sign of the disease, according to the results published in the New England Journal of Medicine. Philippe Leboulch, a professor of medicine at the University of Paris, told the BBC that: “So far the patient has no sign of the disease, no pain, no hospitalisation. An elderly woman stopped a would-be rapist from attacking her by telling him she had HIV. Helen Reynolds told the man she had HIV despite being negative. The man had forced himself inside her Parkesburg, Pennsylvania, USA, apartment after posing as an employee of the complex. The 88-year-old said the man used duct tape to to bind her and had removed his and her trousers when she came up with the comment. She told WPVI: ‘ I said to him, “Well, it’s like this. You might as well know the truth.” I said, “I have HIV and my husband died from it,” which is a lie. ‘When I said that, he just walked out of the bedroom. That’s the comment that saved my life.’ The broadcaster asked her about a message for the man and she said: “I have nothing good to say about him. Nothing at all. A 24-year-old Indian woman who had been missing since December was allegedly burned alive on a funeral pyre, a day after she had been declared dead by Doctors. Rachna Sisodia died two days after being admitted to a hospital in Noida, a town just outside Delhi, with fever, breathlessness and abdominal pains. A death summary seen by the Times of India stated that Sisodia had died from “cardiorespiratory arrest and acute respiratory distress syndrome.” A day after she was declared dead, on 26 February, the newlywed’s body was being burned on a funeral pyre under instructions from her husband Devesh Chaudhary. Sisodia's family contacted the police with accusations that her husband had deliberately attempted to murder her by burning her alive Police arrived at the ceremony and pulled Sisodia from the flames. 12-year-old shoe shiner, Ibrahim Bukar, who moved around Maiduguri cleaning shoes is now a pupil of Future Hope Private School in London Chiki area of Borno State, all thanks to a good Samaritan, Ibrahim Yusuf.
