Neymar crashed his Ferrari 458 Spider on the way to Barcelona’s training
ground on Sunday morning but escaped unhurt after the incident. The
24-year-old was driving to meet up with team-mates before their flight
to San Sebastian for Sunday's meeting with Real Sociedad when the crash
occurred.
He was leaving the motorway in his £240,000 sports car when he appeared to lose control on the slip road that was wet from overnight rain.
The Brazilian international was shaken but unhurt and was able to walk away from the vehicle which had been spun around to face oncoming traffic by the crash.
Club official Pepe Costa – usually Lionel Messi’s assistant but also liked and trusted by Neymar - came to the rescue picking the player up and ensuring that he reached the training ground in time to take the team coach to the airport.
