Reekado Banks Surprises Fans Of Rivers United And Rangers With Performance At Star Lager Beer Fan Park

Mavin Records star, Reekado Banks on Sunday night gave a surprise performance at the NPFL match between Enugu Rangers and Rivers United as he performed a plethora of his hit songs at the Star Fan Park held in Liberation Stadium, Port Harcourt.
The cheering fans exhilaratingly sang along to all of Reekado Banks’ songs that included ‘Problem’, ‘Katapot’, ‘Oluwa Ni’ and ‘Ladies and Gentlemen’.
These fans, predominantly supporters of Enugu Rangers and Rivers United were already hyped with entertainment euphoria after winning several gifts and refreshments courtesy of Star Lager Beer during fun games at the fan park.
It was the first time a Nigerian artiste had performed at any Star fan park event. Commenting after his debut Star fan park performance at the Liberation Stadium, Reekado Banks said:
‘I’m very impressed with the idea of having Star’s fan park at a match venue. It completes the excitement and passion we enjoy about football. I’ve always loved meeting fans here in Port Harcourt and this was a great experience blending football and music. I’m glad to have made a debut surprise performance at this event. Thanks to all my fans for always supporting me.’
Thousands of fans hosted at Star lager beer’s fan park had fun stories to tell from the premium consumer experience in the stadium. Highlighting the brand’s commitment to reinforce a delightful match day experience during the NPFL season, Portfolio Manager, National Premium, Nigerian Breweries Plc, Tokunbo Adodo stated that, ‘Star Lager Beer is dedicated to giving its consumers great experiences by bringing together two pillars they love; football and music. Reekado Banks certainly made his Star fan park debut a memorable one.’
Star Lager Beer’s fan park will be hosted at some NPFL match venues in the coming weeks. This will be bringing to reality, other terms of the partnership arrangement between Star and League Management Company, managers of the Nigerian Professional Football League to amplify enthusiasm and support for development of football in Nigeria, since Star was announced as the official beer partner of the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) in 2016.

The Nigerian army said on Wednesday, that it had intercepted 37 people 37 people , who were suspected to be wives and children of the boko haram terrorists. The army spokesman, Brig.-Gen. Sani Usman, said in a statement that 30 of the escapees, which comprises of eight women and 22 children, were intercepted  on Tuesday at Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe. A group of Nigerian youngsters sponsored by Lagos State Government and their coordinator, Professor Kolawole Raheem, were Thursday, received by head of unit; Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Hannu Heinonen, at Finland. The participants, whose trip was funded by Lagos State Ministry of Education, were chosen based on their outstanding performance in school. The visit, however aims at enabling the youngsters have an experience of how the Finnish society works and to offer them the possibility of bringing positive examples back to Nigeria. The participants were especially interested in matters related to environment and construction, as well as the Finnish social security and education systems. These visits that have already become somewhat of a tradition are envisaged to continue in the coming years.
