Malik Obama, the Muslim half-brother of outgoing US President Barack Obama, has taken to Twitter to celebrate Donald Trump's win against Hillary Clinton. Malik, who holds American citizenship, surprised many in July when he said that he would be voting for Mr Trump instead of Mrs Clinton, his brother's preferred candidate. He was later invited by the Republican candidate as his guest in one of his presidential debates with Mrs Clinton. A plastic surgeon in China has successfully grown an artificial ear on a man's arm in a pioneering medical procedure. The patient, surnamed Ji, lost his right ear in an accident and yearned to have it back, reports Huanqiu.com, an affiliation to People's Daily. Doctor Guo Shuzhong from a hospital in Xi'an, China's Shaanxi Province, used Mr Ji's cartilage from his ribs to build the new ear; and he expects to transplanted the organ to the man's head in about four months.. According to the Huanqiu report, Mr Ji sustained serious injuries in the right side of his face in a traffic accident about a year ago. His right ear was torn from his face. The man, whose age is not specified, has since received multiple surgical operations to restore his facial skin and his cheeks. However, he felt frustrated about losing his right ear for good. Troops of Joint Task Force (JTF), Operation Delta Safe (ODS) have clashed with militants believed to be members of the Niger Delta Avengers in the creeks of Delta State. The troops of Sector 1 of ODS were said to have encountered the militants and engaged them in a gun duel at the Batan-Egwa creeks in Warri South-west Local Government Area of the state. The operatives were reportedly deployed in an outpost of the Nigeria Gas Company (NGC) to protect the facilities of the firm when they saw two 200 horsepower boats conveying the militants. The Coordinator, Joint Media Campaign Centre (JMCC) of ODS, Lt. Col. Olaolu Dauda, confirmed the encounter in a statement in Yenagoa but said the troops repelled the militants. “They came in 200 horsepower speed capacity boats but were subsequently engaged and repelled. No fewer than 40 miners have been killed, while several others sustained serious injuries when they were attacked in Bindi town, in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State by suspected herdsmen. Eyewitness told Metro that the hoodlums had invaded a mining site Monday afternoon and began to shoot sporadically at the miners. “They were shooting sporadically. Even those inside the mining pits were not spared too. After the shooting spree, we counted 40 bodies, while several others were injured. It was gathered that afterwards, the hoodlums who had AK-47 rifles zoomed off on their motorcycles heading towards the forest.
