A woman in Ilorin told a court to dissolve her two year marriage because she refused to stay in purdah, the News Agency of Nigeria reports. The purdah practice requires married Muslim women to stay in separate rooms, behind a curtain or dress in all-enveloping clothes, in other to say out of the sight of men or strangers. But Azanat Bashiru told the court that Mumin Bashiru, her husband of two years and father of their two children, did not tell her before they got married in 2014 that she would be put in purdah. “This is not in our agreement. I cannot be covering my body with black cloth, including my eyes, all of the time,’’ she said. Mumin did not raise any objection. “If she doesn’t agree to be in purdah, she is free to go,’’ he said. A mystery woman stunned motorists as she drove along a motorway topless while dancing around to her favourite song. The woman, whose identity is unknown, exposed her breasts as she travelled down the urban motorway in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Donning a pair of shades, she didn't appear bothered by the attention of other motorists who were driving past in higher vehicles. Instead, she showed she didn’t have a care in the world by jigging around and waving at them as they travelled on the opposite carriageway.

The Kaduna State Command Of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, (NDLEA) has arrested nine suspected drug addicts and peddlers while seizing illicit drugs worth over 30 million Naira from them in Zaria, Kaduna state. Parading the suspects before journalists at the command’s headquarters in Kaduna, the NDLEA State Commander, Samuel Azige, said that the suspects were arrested during a raid at their hideouts in Zaria where they stored the illicit drugs in a warehouse. According to him, preliminary investigations revealed that they stored the cartons of banned Tramadol drugs, weighing over 500g, inside a warehouse from which they sell them to ready buyers. NDLEA, drug trafickers, KadunaHe explained that the drugs, apart from being banned by the World Health Organisation, had also expired and had therefore become harmful for human consumption. A cook who served Esther Nnamdi-Ogbue, a Managing Director at the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) in Abuja, has absconded with cash and pieces of jewelry worth $6million. It was gathered that the man, identified as Gabel Segbedji, a national of Benin Republic, took off with the loot in a Toyota Camry car which also belonged to her boss, last Wednesday.     Although reportedly devastated by the development, Mrs. Nnamdi-Ogbue did not report the burglary to the police, in the hope of avoiding further attention, as she is already under investigation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Mrs. Nnamdi Ogbue was the Managing Director of the cash-spinning Petroleum Products and Marketing Company (PPMC) before she was moved to Products Retail by then GMD of NNPC, Ibe Kachikwu, in 2015. Brother Of Former Akwa Ibom State Governor Akpabio Arrested By EFCC. Pictured

The current Deputy Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party in Akwa Ibom state, Ibanga Akpabio, has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in connection with fraud. Ibanga is the younger brother of Godswill Akpabio, a former Governor of Akwa Ibom state who is now a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. EFCC sources said the senior Akpabio is facing separate investigations over his mismanagement and embezzlement of Akwa Ibom state fund. Sources at the EFCC told Saharareporters that Mr. Ibanga was arrested and detained at the Zonal offices of the EFCC in Port Harcourt for defrauding a member of the Federal House of Representatives, Robinson Uwak. He is also being interrogated over allegations of fraud and money laundering according to EFCC operatives.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission today November 1, 2016 arraigned one Ahmed Tijjani Umar and his two companies, Eximab Integrated Link Limited and Minanta Enterprises Limited before Justice Tukur Mu'azu of Kaduna State High Court on three counts of obtaining under false pretense and issuance of dud cheque. The accused person allegedly induced the complainant to part with the sum of N24, 000,000 under the guise that the said amount was management fees in respect of contract purportedly from the National Assembly for the supply of pipes and sanitary wares to the “National Assembly Quarters, Lugbe Abuja”. The purported contract, according to the accused person, was worth N2, 051,534,525.00 (Two Billion, Fifty One Million, Five Hundred and Thirty Four Thousand, Five Hundred and Twenty Five Naira Only). Investigation into the alleged fraud revealed that the accused person had used his company Eximab Integrated Link to award the purported contract

A prince of Saudi Arabia's ruling family has been flogged in prison in Jeddah as a court-ordered punishment, less than a month after the kingdom executed another prince for murder. The unidentified prince was also jailed after receiving lashes for an unspecified crime. The flogging was carried out by a policeman on Monday after medical checks to ensure the prince was healthy, the paper added. Last month a Saudi prince was executed in Riyadh after a court found him guilty of shooting dead a fellow Saudi, in what was the first execution of a prince since the 1970s. Prince Turki bin Saud al-Kabir had pleaded guilty to shooting Adel al-Mohaimed after a brawl, the ministry of interior said.
