Photos Of The Military Colonel, Muhammad Ali, Who Was Killed By Boko Haram

Muhammad Abu Ali, a lieutenant colonel, whom Boko Haram dreaded, is dead. Ali led one of the army’s fiercest-ever battles with Boko Haram, in February 2015, culminating in the recapture of Baga town in Borno state. Sani Usman, army spokesman, said he was killed in an encounter with the insurgents on Friday The deceased was granted accelerated promotion from rank of major to lieutenant-colonel in September 2015, for his courageous performance in a series of the army’s engagements with Boko Haram. ‎Usman added that four soldiers were killed, but that troops killed 14 of the insurgents who attacked a location of the army in Borno state.

Yesterday at about 10.00pm suspected Boko Haram terrorists attacked a 119 Battalion Nigerian Army location at Mallam Fatori, northern Borno State. The troops fought gallantly and repelled the attack, killing 14 Boko Haram terrorists. Unfortunately, we lost an officer and 4 soldiers, while 4 other soldiers sustained various degrees of injuries during the encounter. One of those killed in action, was Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Abu Ali, the Commanding Officer of 272 Task Force Tank Battalion. It will be recalled that because of the late senior officer’s exceptional bravery and gallantry, he was given an accelerated promotion from the rank of Major to Lieutenant Colonel and was decorated by the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General TY Buratai at Gamboru Ngala on 9th September 2015 during an operational visit. So far, the troops have recovered 1 General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG), 7 AK-47 rifles and a large quantity of ammunition. Mopping up and exploitation are ongoing. Thank

When you hear 'I get big cassava', only one song comes to mind, Tekno's 'Pana'. The hit singer repeated the line severally in his song, leading fans to believe he had a really huge you-know-what. He took to Instagram yesterday to share a shirtless photo of himself by the poolside and to the disappointment of fans, his 'big cassava' was nowhere in sight. The lanky singer, dressed in only a pair of briefs, posed with his tongue out - which some heartbroken fans claimed was even longer than the so called 'big cassava'. Rivers Police arrest 30 kidnappers, 20 cultists, foil 10 armed robberies, rescue 30 kidnapped victims

The Rivers State Police Command has arrested 30 kidnappers,20 cultists, and foiled 10 armed robberies, 6 suspected armed robbers, 5 cultists and 9 kidnappers were fatally wounded. The Command has also rescued 30 kidnapped victims and recovered 20 firearms, 229 assorted ammunition, 15 vehicles recovered, among others. The Commissioner of Police, CP Francis M. Lagos CJ grants amnesty to eleven prison inmates

The Chief Judge of Lagos State, Justice Olufunmilayo Atilade has granted amnesty to 11 inmates of the Badagry Prisons. The freed prisoners were among the 174 inmates whose names were sent to the Lagos State Prisons Decongestion Committee headed by Justice Oluwatoyin Ipaye for a review of their cases. Exercising her constitutional powers to grant amnesty to deserving prisoners, Justice Atilade released the 11 inmates from incarceration and urged them not to indulge in any criminal activities in the outside world. "Having been informed by the prison officials of the offences for which you have been in prison for a period longer than three months, and in pursuance of the provisions of Sections 1(1) of the Criminal Justice (Release from Custody) Act, 2007 as well as Section 35 of the 1999 Constitution, you are all hereby released from custody today, November 3, 2016. There is a growing concern in military circles over the fitness or otherwise of many of the cadets undergoing training course in the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), as well as several others recruited into the armed forces. The latest revelation followed the death of four cadets who reportedly died in the nations’ premier military institution, early October and three weeks after the resumption of their training. The NDA, established in the 1960s, runs a five-year course, four of which is purely for academics with little military training, leading to the award of B.Sc. or B.A. honours while the remaining one year is for full military training. The premier military institution, for the first time since its existence, produced female combatants officers in the Army, Navy and Airforce, last September, while it admitted about 250 cadets this year, including female cadets. One of the most dangerous and notorious masked robbers in Ghana, Charles Donkor has been arrested by the Accra Regional Police Command. Charles Donkor popular known as ‘Killer’, is not new on the police records, having been arrested in 2013 for possessing one revolver pistol, one pump action gun, and 29 rounds of live ammunition was arrested for the second time again on Tuesday near Pokuase in the Greater Accra Region following police intelligence in an operation which reportedly lasted for three hours. During the operation several weapons and ammunition such as AK47, an SMG rifle, two AK 47 magazines, two G3 magazines, forty-three G3 empty shells, 188 rounds of G3 ammunition, and 77 rounds of AK 47 ammunition were all recovered from him. Officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), on Friday, November 4th, arrested four drug couriers at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos, while attempting to take the drugs to China, Indonesia and Qatar. The spokesman of the anti-narcotics agency, Mr. Mitchell Ofoyeju, gave the names of the suspects as Aniebue Peter Nnamma, 50; Sokpe Zubbye, alias Nzube Chukwudi), 37; Ugwuezumba Hyacinth Arinze, 38; and Obinna James Obi, 30. Nnamma, who sells clothes at Aswani Market in Lagos, inserted 11 wraps of cocaine weighing 460 grammes into his anus. He blamed his involvement in the crime on financial hardship. "It was financial hardship that made me smuggle the drug. I was afraid of swallowing the drug, so I inserted eleven wraps of cocaine weighing 460 grammes into my anus. After several visit to World’s largest nation, American actor, Steven Seagal has been granted Russian citizenship by President Vladimir Putin. A wish he has been craving for years.
