Wait for 2019 to conclude if we have done well or not- Rotimi Amaechi tells Nigerians

Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi, has asked Nigerians to wait till 2019 before judging this administration. According to Amaechi, the Buhari-led administration did not promise to come in and fix all of Nigeria's problems within a year. He said this when he spoke at the Federal government North Central town hall meeting for the people of Kwara, Niger and Kogi states which held in Kwara state yesterday. "We did not promise you that those challenges will be solved in one year or you would have given us a one-year mandate. But you gave us four years mandate. So wait till the end of four years before you can conclude that we have not done well” he said

Photos: Secondary school teacher in Kogi state overpaid N130k returns money to state government despite 8 months unpaid salaries

A secondary school teacher in Kogi state, Mrs Abu Queen Ejura, refunded N130,000 to the state government after she was overpaid her salary. Ejura was overpaid four months salary arrears. She refunded the money despite the fact that she was still being owed eight months salary. According to the Director General (Media and Publicity) at the Kogi state governor's office, Kingsley Olorunfem Fanwo, who shared her photos online, Ejura withdrew what is legitimately hers and wrote to the screening committee to report the overpayment. Quite commendable!

Russia asks Fox News to apologize for 'Putin is a killer' remarks, Fox News says 'you'll have to wait for till 2023'

Following Fox news' Billy O'Reilly's comments in an interview with U.S President Donald Trump, where he called Russian President Vladimir Putin 'a killer', Russia has now asked the television station to apologize over what the Kremlin sees as 'unacceptable' and 'insulting' comments by its presenter towards the Russian leader. Putin and Trump spoke on the phone last Saturday and discussed co-operation in the fight against Isis among other things, but when O'Reilly asked him why he respected Putin so much knowing Putin was a killer, Trump replied;   "There are a lot of killers. You think our country's so innocent?"  "I think our country does plenty of killing also, Joe, so you know. NSCDC intercepts female suicide bomber that attempted to attack an NNPC mega station in Borno (see her photo)

Two female suicide bombers believed to be around 18 years were intercepted on Tuesday who were targeting motorists at the NNPC Mega station in Maiduguri, Borno Station. (one of the girls pictured above). Spokesman for the Borno State Police Command, Victor Isuku, who confirmed the incident said one of the bombers was shot dead while trying to escape. "Today 7/2/17 at about 0700hrs, two female suicide bombers about 18yrs old, were sighted behind Mega filling station in Molai area, while attempting to infiltrate Maiduguri town. They were intercepted by security personnel on duty. One was arrested and the other one was shot dead. Explosive Ordinance Device, EOD, personnel were quickly drafted to the scene and rendered the area safe"

U.S President Donald Trump in a new interview with Fox News, seemed to defend Vladmir Putin's actions as president of Russia, saying America as a nation isn't innocent too, if Putin is being accused of war crimes in Syria and Russia's annexation of Crimea. During an interview with Fox News' Bill O'Reilly, Trump revealed he respected the Russian president, to which O'Reilly said 'but he's a killer', Trump then replied; "There are a lot of killers. You think our country's so innocent? I think our country does plenty of killing also, Joe, so you know. I am not directly in touch with President Buhari but I speak with those around him- Femi Adesina

Senior Special Assistant to President Buhari on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina says he is not directly in touch with the president but that he speaks with those around him in London. Adesina said this on Channels TV this morning.  "Daily. I am not saying I speak with him directly but I am in touch with London daily. People around him, we speak daily"he said Femi says he does not know when President Buhari will be coming back "In his communication to the National Assembly, that was not indicated. Watch shocking moment mother and little daughter assaulted a woman in Brooklyn

Video which was taken in 2015 but has recently gone viral, shows the shocking and sad moment a mother and her daughter who appears to be 5 or 6 years old beat up a woman as she lay on the floor. It is not clear what sparked the scene but the assailant claims the victim 'laid hands' on her daughter. As the video starts, the furious mother is already shoving the cowering woman around the restaurant, sending her sprawling into tables and chairs. 'You put your hands on my daughter?' she screams as she yanks a chair out of the woman's hands. 'What is wrong with you?' The little girl joins in, mimicking her mom by planting a kick in the woman's back. The woman cries out in agony 'Call the police! Call the police!' but her attackers are unrelenting.
