The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, has clarified the reason why the Federal government plans to stop entertainers and movie makers from shooting movie and music videos outside Nigeria. On Saturday last week, Lai Mohammed disclosed this plan when he spoke at the Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON) House in Lagos. In a recent interview with Premium times, Lai Mohammed disclosed that the proposed ban would help tackle the exploitation of perceived loopholes in the Nigerian Broadcasting Code (NBC). He said; “The NBC code today as it stands has been exploited and not defined and that’s why movies being directed by Nigerians with Nigerian actors, actresses can be shot in South Africa and then brought back to be consumed in Nigeria. All we are saying is that we are going to amend the code in a manner that it will not be possible for you to exploit any loophole there to go and shoot outside Nigeria film, music or programs that are meant to be consumed in N

Nollywood actress  Halima Abubakar’ s brother, Isah Abubakar disclosed that his sister is suffering from complications which came up as a result of the Fibroid surgery she had in India few months ago.  Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh who recently gave her life to Christ has made progress in locating the 13-year-old pregnant Ghanaian girl. The actress started the search with her Foundation after the picture went viral on the internet. The teenager identified as Afia was into selling her body in order to cater for herself and her unborn baby. The actress collaborated with friends in the movie industry in Ghana to help her locate the teenager, when the news came to her attention. Tonto Dikeh said that Afia would enjoy a special package from her foundation. She went on to list out a few things that her foundation was going to do to ensure that she lived a meaningful life after her delivery. Tonto took to her Instagram handle to share the pictures of Afia and her baby in the hospital. The picture also had screenshots of how she was able to rescue the young lady.

Out of 1,559,162 who sat for the 2017 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), 923,486 candidates obtained credit passes in Maths and English. The figure which represents 59.22% is an improvement on the percentage of school candidates that passed Maths and English in 2015 and 2016.

A beautiful Nigerian lady identified as Hammed Olamiposi graduated as an accountant and got engaged on the same day. A Nigerian pastor Sam Zuga has shared evidence that his ‘World Wonders Water’ really do perform miracles. According to a Facebook post on the bishop’s page, he allegedly cured a man who suffered from severe illness after giving him the water to drink. In the post, the pastor also stated that the water allegedly killed a bird that has been tormenting the man for two w eeks. Zuga noted that he gave the water to the man who drank and spilled some of the water on his window where the bird stays every night to torment him. Former Tennis Star, Boris Becker lost a huge part of his £100million fortune investing in a shady Nigerian Oil deal. According to a top German news magazine, Der Spiegel, the former star was involved in a dubious deal between a Canadian firm and a Nigerian employee of Becker. The documents revealed that Becker had major shares in an oil producing and servicing firm in Nigeria, the deal was cut off after the oil price crippled the Nigerian economy. According to his lawyer, John Briggs, the former Wimbledon champion was not very good with his finances. Boris Becker, who has 6 grand slam titles to his name, began his grace to grass story after he paid £20million to his first wife, Barbara for paternity and divorce settlements. He similarly had to settle a Russian model, Angela Ermakova, who also has a baby for him. The former star was also ordered to pay £2.5million for tax evasion.

Malawi police has arrested a 19 year old man Van Gomani for theft by trick. Van Gomani who allegedly posed as a female sex worker was nabbed in the early hours of today, along Kaunda, Malawi and is currently in the custody of Kanengo Police. The suspect dressed up like a woman complete with hair extension, stood along the road where he was picked up by a man who thought she was a lady. A Source said: “They went together and booked a room. It was in that room that the other man noticed that the person he picked is not a lady but rather a fellow man.” The man dragged the suspect to police because he felt deceived and believed he posed as a lady with intent to rob him. A statement signed by the spokesperson for Kanengo Police, Salome Zgambo Chibwana said: Von Goman comes from kapetera village T/A kapeni in Blantyre and will appear in court soon to answer charges of soliciting immoral purpose which is under section 180 sub section (e) of the penal code.
