One soldier attached to the 19 Battalion, Koko in Warri North Local Government Area of Delta State, was shot on Tuesday while six suspected militants were killed during an ambush by the militants on the troop who were trying to apprehend the leader of the gang. An operative of the Department of State Security disclosed that a team from the battalion arrested some members of the gang last Sunday, including a female suspect and took the team to their hideout at Akpakakpa Creek near Abigborodo in Warri North Council Area of the Delta State where members of the gang ambushed them leading to a fierce gun battle. “The hoodlums having been arrested at different parts of Sapele, have confessed to killing two soldiers in July while trying to abduct a female victim,” the source stated. “Two of the suspects earlier arrested, had confessed to being members of a militant gang that abducted a female victim at Amukpe, Sapele, and killed two soldiers during that incident,” said th

Kano State governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, on Thursday slammed "someone" who he claimed is busy scheming for President Buhari’s seat. It is not confirmed who he was referring to, however, Daily Nigerian said the shot was directed at his predecessor, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso. Some internet fraudsters popularly known as ‘Yahoo’ boys have been apprehended by the Madina Divisional Police Command on Friday in Ghana. According to multiple online reports from Ghana, about twenty six of them including Nigerians are suspected to be engaged in cyber crime. The suspects, whose ages range from 19 to 35 were picked up at a suburb of Ashale Botwe near Madina in the La-Nkwantanag/Madina municipality of Greater Accra. The Police seized 33 laptops, 26 mobile phones, and a number of pen drives from the suspects.

A friend of wealthy Nigerian entrepreneur, Adewale Aladejana, who owns Sapphire scents, revealed how his wife, stood by him during trying and difficult times and even squatted with her husband in a friend’s house in Abuja. 21 year old fashion student, Narinthorn Alexander reportedly died on her birthday, after drinking half a bottle of Jack Daniels in a Thai restaurant at London. It was reported that Alexander died after guzzling half a bottle of Jack daniels and choking on her own vomit in a Thai restaurant, central london. She was found unconscious in the toilet of the restaurant after telling her friends she was not feeling ok. She later suffered a cardiac arrest and was in a coma for six days before her life machine support was turned off. However, coroner Mary Hassell ruled that the amount of Jack Daniels she had consumed played a significant role in her death.

The management of United Bank of Africa (UBA) have taken back their words as they have today announced that their cards could be used on any credible platform and for the purchase of any service the card holder desires. The UBA management, on Thursday, emailed customers telling them that they could not use the bank’s debit/credit cards to purchase certain services or items, such as  jewelry, pornography, or betting, among others.   The bank however sent another email today cancelling the ban and informing that they are free to use its card on any site.
