My Biggest Challenge As Governor- Peter Obi Reveals

The former governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi stated that his biggest challenge as governor was the battle he fought trying to change the mindset of his people of Anambra. Speaking while addressing students of St. Michael’s Model Comprehensive Secondary School, Nimo, on Friday , Mr. Obi explained how tough it was trying to make his Executive Council and all that worked with him to understand the concept of accountability and responsibility in governance. Man Gets Bitten By Shark While Trying To Grab It By The Tail. Photos

Footage has emerged of a man attempting to grab a tiger shark by the tail – before being bitten by the creature. Two men were caught on camera trying to rescue the small shark after it got hooked on a fishing line near a pier in North Carolina, US. The clip shows one of the men trying to grab hold of its tail but failing and the animal then tries to swim a short distance away. Blood can be seen gushing into the ocean as the man is bitten on the hand when he tries to reach for it once more. He is then seen making his way to the shore, clutching his wounded hand. The shark, which was about 4-foot long, was later pulled nearer the shore at Wrightsville Beach. The hook was removed before it was released back into the ocean, local TV station WWAY reported.

The  Nigeria Professional Football League clash between Remo Stars and Ifeanyi Ubah which was slated for Sunday, July 9, was called off. The Remo Stars Football Club players were struck by food poisoning prior to the top-flight match against the Anambra Warriors with 13 players hospitalized. This reportedly happened on the eve of Sunday’s Week 28 NPFL tie with Ifeanyi Ubah. At that moment, 13 first-team Remo Stars players, including their leading scorer, Victor Mbaoma, Ekene Awazie and Salefu Ochowechi as well as the goalkeeper trainer and media officer are violently sick with food poisoning. It was gathered that the players began complaining of stomach pain and tiredness, after after their dinner which was a meal of semovita and Egusi. Over 500 members of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, defected to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ward 4 of the local government  on Saturday . The Akwa Ibom State Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Comrade Ini Ememobong, who received the defectors advised them to remain faithful to the party, maintaining that the PDP remains resolute in changing the suffering that has been inflicted on Nigerians by the APC-led federal government. The member representing Ibiono Ibom State Constituency at the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Ime Okon, who led the defectors,  said movement is the beginning of the death of the APC. Over 200 repentant cultists, militants, and prostitutes who embraced Christ through empowerment and intervention programs received water baptism after undergoing baptismal classes at Omega Power Ministries in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. Speaking to newsmen shortly after the deliverance and baptism, the General Overseer of OPM, Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere, said that though the financial involvement in the upkeep and maintenance of the new converts are quite enormous, especially the provision of free feeding, accommodations, skill acquisition, and setting up businesses, he can not in anyway compare the cost to the salvation of the lost souls to God in heaven.  "This is what God is expecting from us," he stated.

Two persons including a Nigerian national were caught with cocaine in Hyderabad, India on Saturday, July 8th. The Nigerian identified as Bernard Wilson, 26, and a 23-year-old Mohd Zeeshan, a hotel manager were arrested by Telangana's excise officials for allegedly peddling 12 gm of cocaine, each gram costing over Rs 10,000, near two prominent star hotels in Begumpet and Banjara Hill. The duo would get in touch with buyers through social media and sold the drug that set their clients back  Rs.  10,000-15,000 for a gram. The arrests come soon after the crackdown in Hyderabad on a network peddling psychotropic substance LSD to school and college students.
