Police in Jalandhar, India on Thursday, July 13th, arrested notorious Nigerian drug peddler identified simply as Okey with half a kg of heroin. T he accused, who was nabbed from the under bridge of Surya Enclave during routine checking, was arrested two months ago and put him behind bars.  According to Tribune India, he was released on bail days ago only for him to embark on another drug peddling move. The police said the interrogation of another Nigerian national, named Agu Emmanuel, arrested on June 14, had revealed that a drug network on a large scale was being run from Delhi and drugs were being supplied from the national Capital to Jalandhar. During interrogation, Emmanuel, 32, said he had landed at the Mumbai airport in January on a tourist visa and had contacted his old mate Yohan at a local cloth market. Guatemala government has declared three days of mourning after a fire swept through a home for abused teenagers and children, killing at least 22 girls  on Wednesday . According to a police report, the blaze started when some residents who had been isolated by authorities set mattresses ablaze following an overnight attempt to escape from the overcrowded center. All those killed at the Virgin of the Assumption Safe Home in San Jose Pinula, were aged between 14 and 17.  A total of 38 other people were injured, 16 of them in critical condition, hospital officials said. President Jimmy Morales on national television said that he had ordered the dismissal of the shelter?s director. Morales said that before the fire incident, orders had been given to transfer some of the youths to other facilities because of the overcrowding. A man flew into a rage and threw his wife off a balcony – but she insisted she forgives her spouse. The husband, who has not been named, grabbed his wife’s phone and threw it over the balcony after hitting her in the face during a row. He is then seen to struggle with his wife before flipping her over a barrier in Daying County in central-west China. But despite the violence, the woman told police she had forgiven her spouse and refused to press charges. Fortunately the woman from did not suffer any serious injuries from the tumble. She fell about three feet to a vegetable patch below. Local police detained the husband and took the wife to a hospital for a check-up after the incident.

A sobbing drug smuggler was made to apologise to two chickens after forcing the animals to swallow condoms filled with meth in Thailand.  Charnwut Seuksongkram, 29, was caught by police in Chiang Mai after allegedly forcing one bird to swallow three contraceptives, and the other four. He was carrying the birds in two boxes and waiting for a tuk tuk when officers acting on a tip-off noticed him acting suspiciously. They opened the boxes and immediately noticed the chickens’ stomachs were badly swollen, local media reports. Incredibly, police were able to save the birds after one officer made a small incision in one of their stomachs before removing the drug packets, which contained almost 1,400 pills of meth. After the drugs were removed, Seuksongkram was filmed sobbing as officers forced him to say sorry and ‘wai’ – clasp his hands in a praying motion – to the hapless birds. The embattled ex-acting vice-chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo University, Prof. Anthony Elujoba, who was recently ordered to be remanded in Ilesha Prisons after his bail application was dismissed by Justice David Oladimeji of the Federal High Court in Ede, Osun State has been granted bail. Meet Captain Joan Obasi, who recently became the youngest female pilot in Nigeria. Captain Obasi who was recognised by the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), is currently a pilot with Arik Air, flying the Lagos-Johannesburg flights. The Police Headquarters has announced the arrest of another set of highway kidnappers on the Abuja–Kaduna highway. This is contained in a statement on Thursday by Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Jimoh Moshood. He recalled that the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris, had early June made additional deployment of 600 Police personnel of the Special Intervention Forces, comprising Intelligent Response Team (IRT), Special Tactical Squad (STS), Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), Anti-Kidnapping Units, the Police Mobile Force (PMF) and the Counter Terrorism Units to root out those vicious and notorious kidnap for ransom and armed robbery gangs that were responsible for many kidnappings and armed robberies along Abuja-Kaduna Highway. A couple who lost their two young sons in a car crash two years ago are now the proud parents of twin boys. Gentry and Hadley Eddings welcomed Isaiah Dobbs and Amos Reed into the world on Monday, and were given their middle names in honour of the older brothers they’ll never meet. The couple were 28 years old when they lost their two-year-old son Dobbs in a car accident in North Carolina in May 2015. Hadley, who was eight-months-pregnant at the time of the crash, had the baby delivered by emergency C-section, but he passed away two days later. Truck driver Matthew Blair Deans, 28, was sent to prison for ramming into them while distracted. The couple say they have since forgiven him, saying: “We hope to be holding hands with you in heaven with our children.” He was released at the end of November after serving just over a year. Dozens of Indian women desperate to get pregnant have been pictured taking part in a bizarre practice where ‘God-men’ trample over them so they can have kids. Tribal women in Andhra Pradesh, southern India, have performed this ritual for generations during the annual festival of Ekadashi, in the month of July. Women, who are unable to have children visit the Lakshmi Narasimha Swami temple, in Anantapur district. When they arrive, they take part in the the bizarre practice in a desperate bid to have a child of their own. They lie down in a line on the ground and wait for a God-man to walk over their backs, as hundreds of locals look on. Many claim the practice has worked and say it has fulfilled the wishes of countless women to become mothers.
