The Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Prof. F. C. Eze have mentioned that the FUTO 2016/2017 convocation may not hold. The Vice Chancellor who stated this while given a speech during the Holy Mass at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Chaplaincy (STACC), federal University of Technology, Owerri on Sunday, September 24th 2017 said that due to the Nationwide ASUU strike that was just called off, there is a tendency that the convocation may not hold. Let us recall that the strike lasted an approximate 5 weeks, and the FUTO examination for the semester was scheduled to start on the 15th of October, 2017. Doing the calculation involved, adding the ‘lost 5 weeks’ to the earlier scheduled examination date, will end up taking us to an exam date sometime in ending of November or first week of December. The earlier approved date for the convocation by the Federal Government being December 2nd and bearing in mind that results are suppose
