FUTA VC Arrested For Deliberately Crushing NASU Staff With His Vehicle

Prof. Adebiyi Daramola, the embattled Vice Chancellor of the crisis-ridden Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA), in Ondo State, was this morning arrested after he hit a member of staff of the institution with his car. Abiodun Ademola Atunbi of the Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU) member of FUTA was allegedly crushed to the point of death, and was rushed to the hospital. SaharaReporters learned that the incident happened on the main campus at Oba’nla in Akure at about 8:30a.m. as some members of staff of the institution were gathering at a meeting point for prayers. Our correspondent gathered that the victim is the younger brother of a renowned journalist, Dele Atunbi of the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA). Police Officers from the Okuta Elerinla Police Station arrested Prof. Daramola shortly after the incident. 21-Year-Old Teenage Girl Sentenced To Jail For Live streaming An Orgy Online.

A live-streaming host from China has been sentenced to four years in prison after spreading obscene videos on the internet, according to Chinese media. The 21-year-old, whose screen name is 'Sherry Gun', was arrested after a video called 'Foursome in Chengdu' became widely shared online. Sherry Gun participated in the filming together with one other woman and two men in order to attract more followers for her online live-streaming business, reports said. The two-minute-long video became viral in March. The search term 'foursome in Chengdu' quickly became a top search term on various search engines in China. It was also widely shared on Chinese social media platforms, such as WeChat and QQ. Police officers found out one of the female performers in the video was known as Sherry Gun on the internet. Active Shooter On The Loose At Ohio Campus, Shoots At Least 9 People. Photos

A suspect is dead and at least nine injured about an hour after an active shooter situation was reported at Ohio State University. Just before 10am, the university issued a warning telling students at the school's Columbus campus to shelter in place. The first reports of gunshots came from Watts Hall, which is home to the school's Materials Science and Engineering program. Since then though, the focus of law enforcement presence on the campus has been on a nearby parking garage, where the shooter or shooters were believed to be hiding. Police stormed the garage just before 11am and minutes later they confirmed that one suspect was dead. Two men, one black and one white, were also brought out of the building in handcuffs. It's unclear if there are more suspects and the campus remains on lock down.

Romina Pitton had been due to tie the knot in San Lorenzo, a city in the Santa Fe province of Argentina, before her boyfriend broke things off at the last minute. He claimed she had cheated on him but offered no proof of her alleged infidelity, and she suspects he just got cold feet and changed his mind. But with everything already in place for the wedding , the bride decided not to let the absence of a groom spoil her big day. Instead she staged a "single wedding" and voiced her commitment to her pet pooch, who she dressed up in a miniature wedding dress. The celebration took place on Saturday, November 26, at the Hotel Bingas Saurit.

Three Armed Robbers Shot Dead After Shootout With Police In Rivers

 There was tension in the Port Harcourt metropolis in Rivers State Monday, when the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Intelligence Team engaged four man armed robbery gang on a face to face gun battle, killing three. According to The Nation, an eyewitness at the scene of incident, at the UTC junction, said that the police trailed the suspects from Borokiri axis and intercepted them at the junction when they could not move further due to the electronic traffic light. Confirming the incident Monday, the State Police Public Relations Officer, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Nnamdi Omoni said the IGP intelligence team intercepted the suspects on intelligence information. Omoni further confirmed that three of the suspects were killed at the gun battle while one was arrested, who on interrogation allegedly confessed that they were on mission to Arik Airline and said to have killed a police corporal last year during the All Progressives Congress rally in Okiri

A Japanese skating rink that froze 5,000 dead fish into the ice as an attraction for visitors has been forced to close after receiving a barrage of criticism, with one labelling the attraction 'sinful'. Amusement park Space World is now melting the rink and will hold a memorial service with a priest for the fish, the company said. The rink in southwestern Japan opened on November 12, after 5,000 fish were frozen under the surface of the ice as a decorative effect while customers skated above. But the concept was slammed as unethical and the rink in the city of Kitakyushu was forced to close on Sunday, Space World spokesman Koji Shibata said. 'We received critical voices saying it is not good to use creatures as a toy, and that it is bad to let food go to waste,' he told AFP on Monday. Toshimi Takeda, general manager of Space World, said the intention was for customers to have fun while also learning about fish.

Umar announced their defection to APC at his hometown in Dadin Kowa, Yamaltu/Deba local government of Gombe State. “After several deliberations and consultations, we decided to join the APC, in other to join our friends and brothers who have gone before us, to revive the political glory of our state, and bring about massive development” he said Umar was one of the founding leaders of PDP in Gombe state. FG plans to import fuel from Niger republic

NNPC Group Managing Director, Maikanti Baru, over the weekend disclosed ongoing plans by the Federal Government to import fuel from Niger Republic to Nigeria. Baru who disclosed this during a town hall meeting with the management and staff of KRPC in Kaduna, said President Buhari has ordered the construction of about 1, 000 kilometer crude oil pipelines from Niger Republic to Kaduna Refinery. “Due to challenges with the aged refinery and crude oil pipelines that had been breached severally, the operations of the refinery has been epileptic. This we are determined to resolve through various intervention methods, including evaluation of alternative crude oil supply from Niger Republic through building of a pipelines of over 1, 000 kilometers from Agadem to Kaduna. That effort is being championed by Mr. President himself. It was important to explore alternative crude supply to KRPC which has been affected by vandalism of pipelines and obsolescence. The reinvigorated anti-smuggling activities of the Federal Operations Unit, (FOU) Zone C of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has resulted in the seizure of 29 prohibited items with a Duty Paid Value (DPV) of N1,074,099,739.00 and under payment recovered of over N54 million. T he confiscated items include 2,522 bags of 50 kg foreign rice, 61,333 cartons of imported foreign poultry products, 720 cartons of foreign vegetable oil, 1,618 cartons and 1,466 pieces of furniture, 269 pieces of unused tyres. Others are: 59 cartons and 1,964 pieces of spare parts, 39 pieces of used compressors, 29 bales of second hand clothing as well as 480 pairs of used shoes and 9 vehicles of assorted types, all seized in the South East and South-South geopolitical zones of the country.
