How 2 Fulani Herdsmen Were Arrested For Killing Another Herdsmen In Ogun State

The Ogun State police command says it has arrested two Fulani herdsmen for killing another herdsman, in an attempt to steal his cow at Itadodo area of Ofada in Obafemi Owode local government area of the state. File Photo Both men, Abdulahi Anaruwa and Mohammed Suleiman met the deceased, Garuba Mohammed while grazing with his cattle and two of his kinsmen, when they lured him into the nearby bush and macheted him to death on the October 28, 2016. Luck run against them when a motorcycle rider saw them and alerted the people of the area who in turn called the Police. The DPO of Owode Egba, CSP Sheu Alao, hurriedly led his men to the scene and the two suspects were immediately arrested. The Commissioner Of Police, CP Ahmed Iliyasu, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to the homicide section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligent Department for further investigation. Italy's Recent Earthquakes Is 'Divine Punishment' For Gay Marriage, Claims Priest

An Italian priest has blamed the country's earthquakes, which have killed hundreds and left thousands homeless, on gay civil partnerships. Father Giovanni Cavalcoli said the seismic shocks were 'divine punishment' for same-sex civil unions 'offending the family' and the 'dignity of marriage'. He made the comments on the day central Italy was struck by a 6.6-magnitude quake - the most powerful to hit the country in 36 years. It was the third major quake in the same region in just over two months. The radio station he aired the controversial views on last week, Radio Maria, distanced itself from the comments. The Vatican has hit out at the views, saying the idea of a vengeful God was 'a pagan vision' dating from 'the pre-Christian era'.

'We Survive By Stealing Phones And Robbing People In Oshodi' - Teenage Robbers. Photo

One of the two suspects arrested by the operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of Lagos State Police Command has disclosed that he and other teenagers in Oshodi survive by stealing and dispossessing passers-by of their phones and other valuables. The suspect, Yusuph Ahmed, 19, from Offa, Kwara State, said this to interrogators at the RRS headquarters in Alausa, Ikeja, on Friday afternoon. Ahmed, who was arrested in Oshodi on Friday after dispossessing a passenger of his phone, stated that he along with other teenagers sleep in Oshodi under bridge and that it is from there they eke out a living by stealing phones and robbing passers-by of their valuables. The arrested suspect, who had been sleeping under Oshodi Bridge since he was 13, stressed that even though he does not follow those who rob amongst them out all the time, he knows all of them. Thousands Of Stranded African Migrants Rescued Off Libyan Coast. See Photos

Ten bodies have been found in a dinghy off the Libyan coast - prompting the launch of a huge rescue effort to save more than 2,000 stricken migrants. Some 15 rescue operations took place today in a bid to save the 2,100 migrants stranded on boats off the coast. This comes after a mass operation by the Italian coastguard yesterday, when 1,200 people, including babies and children, were rescued at the Mediterranean .

The Nigerian army has performed the last funeral rites for heroic officer Lt. Col Mohammed Abu Ali, who was killed by Boko Haram terrorists. Muhammad Abu Ali, led one of the army’s fiercest-ever battles with Boko Haram, in February 2015, culminating in the recapture of Baga town in Borno state. Soldiers Embark On Clearance Operation Against Boko Haram In Borno State... Photos

In continuation of the ongoing clearance operation against Boko Haram terrorists, troops of 27 Task Force Brigade, Nigerian Army have embarked on a joint Operation nicknamed "Operation KARYA GWUIWA". In line with that, the formation has carried out clearance operations on suspected Boko Haram terrorists hideouts at Ajigin, Golgore, Njibulla, Doksa 1, 2 and 3 villages located at southern parts of Borno State. During the operation, they neutralized 37 Boko Haram terrorists at Ajigin and recovered 3 AK-47 rifles. Unfortunately, a vigilante group member lost his life while 6 soldiers were wounded during the clearance operation. The corpse of the late vigilante and the wounded soldiers have been evacuated. He died in confrontation with suspected Boko Haram terrorists who attacked 119 Battalion, Nigerian Army location at Mallam Fatori on Friday, in a failed attempt to capture the town.
