Lady stabs neigbour with broken bottle for making fun of her broken marriage



A woman, Akarigbo Victoria who was sent out of her matrimonial home by her husband has been charged to court after she used a broken bottle to stab her neighbor, Mrs Esther Favour for taunting her about her broken marriage. The incident occurred at 6, Musa close, Abue Odu, Idimu, Lagos state.

According to P.M Express, the woman was sent back to her parents with her three children after she had a heated argument with her husband. She  moved in with her parents where she stays brooding all day. She got into a fight with another lady, Mrs Esther  who also stays in the compound.

In the course of their fight, the lady made jest of her broken marriage, saying she wasn't a responsible wife and that was why her marriage failed. In anger, Victoria took a bottle and stabbed her at the back. Esther sustained serious injury and had to be rushed to the hospital, The matter was later reported to the Idimu police division. Victoria was arrested and charged to court. She was later arraigned before Magistrate A.K Shonubi at the Isolo Magistrate court.

She pleaded not guilty and was granted bail in sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum. She is currently in Kirikiri prison until she perfects her bail conditions.

The case has been adjourned to 14 December 2016

A group of Nigerian youngsters sponsored by Lagos State Government and their coordinator, Professor Kolawole Raheem, were Thursday, received by head of unit; Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Hannu Heinonen, at Finland. The participants, whose trip was funded by Lagos State Ministry of Education, were chosen based on their outstanding performance in school. The visit, however aims at enabling the youngsters have an experience of how the Finnish society works and to offer them the possibility of bringing positive examples back to Nigeria. The participants were especially interested in matters related to environment and construction, as well as the Finnish social security and education systems. These visits that have already become somewhat of a tradition are envisaged to continue in the coming years.
