Lagos set to host Africa’s biggest fashion show for kids and teens – African Kids and Teens Fashion Week

The Africa Kids and Fashion Week 2016 is set t to hold in the city of Lagos from 9th- 11th 2016. The African Kids and Teens Fashion Week is an event created to showcase the best of African fashion for kids and teenagers and it also gives talented designers a platform to showcase their design,
promote their brands and raise their visibility on a global fashion stage, teaching the children and members of the society the beauty and value in our cultural heritage.

The event which is packaged by SmartCode Africa and is set to showcase and promote the best of African fashion for kids and teenagers not only in Africa but all over the world.

The African Kids and Teens Fashion Week 2016 will be a 3-day event, the first day which is 9th of December is a fashion summit. This will hold at Ibis Hotel Ikeja Lagos.

The second day which is 10 of December will be a media parley while the third day which is the 11th of December will be the fashion show proper. Exhibition for designers and companies with products that centers on kids and teenagers will be held on the same day of the fashion show which is 11th of December, 2016. At the fashion show, we will be having African designers in the kids and teens fashion industry come showcase their outfits. Apart from wonderful African designs that will be on display on the runway, brands will be able to meet with customers directly to market and sell products at the exhibition stand. Celebrity guests from the entertainment circle will also be part of this year’s fashion week.

In the press statement made available, Mr Ajibola Akande the Creative Director of SmartCode Africa and the Organizer of AKTFW2016 said  “teaching our children the beauty and value  of our heritage, we prepare them to be confident individuals wherever they go in the world. So the African Kids and Teens Fashion Week is an event created to showcase  an intrinsic part of culture both parent and kids needs to be more familiar with which is FASHION.

Nigerian Army Intercepts 37 Wives And Children Of Boko Haram Terrorists

The Nigerian army said on Wednesday, that it had intercepted 37 people 37 people , who were suspected to be wives and children of the boko haram terrorists. The army spokesman, Brig.-Gen. Sani Usman, said in a statement that 30 of the escapees, which comprises of eight women and 22 children, were intercepted  on Tuesday at Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe. He said; “On preliminary interrogation, the suspects claimed to have escaped from Boko Haram terrorists’ custody at Kafa and Abagajiri villages in Damboa Local Government Area of Borno,’’ The army spokesman added that seven other people were intercepted on Tuesday, at Kamunya, Yobe state. “They claimed that they escaped from Boko Haram terrorists’ hideout at Goropcha village, Damboa Local Government Area of Borno. “Both sets of escapees are currently being screened and profiled,’’ he said.

A group of Nigerian youngsters sponsored by Lagos State Government and their coordinator, Professor Kolawole Raheem, were Thursday, received by head of unit; Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Hannu Heinonen, at Finland. The participants, whose trip was funded by Lagos State Ministry of Education, were chosen based on their outstanding performance in school. The visit, however aims at enabling the youngsters have an experience of how the Finnish society works and to offer them the possibility of bringing positive examples back to Nigeria. The participants were especially interested in matters related to environment and construction, as well as the Finnish social security and education systems. These visits that have already become somewhat of a tradition are envisaged to continue in the coming years.
